The idea for this site came as a thought back in 1997.  My brother and I were brainstorming ideas for a one-of-a-kind and unique website.  He was thinking of one for himself as I was doing the same thing.  I wanted to do something on the Titanic.  And he wanted to do something about his stories "Space Frontiers".   At the time there wasn't many websites out there on the Titanic.  This was about 2-3 months before James Cameron's movie came out.  But unfortunately for me, I was, at the time, very new on the internet.  I had no knowledge on html, like I do now, or even how to start one up.  The only thing I knew at that time, was surfing the web and how to write/send e-mail and Instant Messages.   That was about it.

The movie came out and within weeks, websites about Titanic started popping all over the internet.  So my site on the Titanic was trashed.  About a month later I met a guy who had some knowledge on html.  He knew it like the back of his hand, but like me, he was pretty new at this too.  We started to work together.  That's when I discovered that I had FrontPage Express on my computer.  It was a simple version of FrontPage 98.  A program which I could not afford at that time.  Express came with the Internet Explorer 4.0 upgrade.  So Neal and I first started to improve his website with Express.  Since he already had an established website, and I did not, it was the logical choice to go on.  With an on going of trials and errors, I was starting to get pretty good.  But the one problem that came with Express, was its limits.  You could not make a multi-page site or organize your files in specific folders.  This made for a very difficult challenge when it came for me to work on mine.  That's when I decided to purchase FP98.

Once I made the sacrificial purchase, it was time to decide again on what I wanted to base my site on.  I had a ton of interests in many different areas.  But once I checked the search engines on each one of them, it came up with at least a dozen or so sites.  The idea wouldn't come to mind for almost another year.  In the summer of 99, my brother, David, was getting ready to take a job with Carnival Cruise Lines onboard the ship, Paradise.  The week before he left, I asked him again to help me out.  And again, we were stumped, and he left for the Caribbean.  And as usual, I went back to doing my usual routines.  Work, work, work.

A few weeks later, David comes back from his job.  He said it wasn't his cup of tea, but the few weeks he was there gave him the idea that I was looking for.  He said, "If I give you this idea, you'll have to pay me back the favor and help me with my Space Frontiers website."  I said, "Ok, done deal.  What did you have in mind?"  And with that smug grin that he usually gives when its something I should have thought of a long time ago, he said, "How about Raise The Titanic!"?  I never gave it a second thought.  So I typed in "Raise The Titanic" into the search engines and found out that there was hardly anything about the movie on here.  Just a ton of negative movie review about the movie and allot of positive reviews about Dr. Cussler's novel and the upcoming soundtrack that was finally being released for the first time.  After deciding that was what I was going to do, I went back to Dave and said, "Ok, let's do it.  But let's wait until the end of August or maybe even in September when I have more time on my hands."  We agreed to do just that.  But then, a fatal blow struck that would change my life forever.  David, my baby brother, best friend, and most of all my hero, died suddenly with a brain aneurysm.

It took almost a year before I tackled the project that we were supposed to work together.  I first checked on the domain name.  With it available, I purchased it and then started on the research.  With hardly any information out there, I realized that I would have to do everything from scratch myself.  My first stop was the Internet Movie Database.  With the little information that I had, I then went to Amazon to purchase another copy of RTT.  While I was there, it also recommended "Dirk Pitt Revealed" by Clive Cussler Craig Dirgo, so I ordered both of them.  It turned out that Dirk Pitt Revealed was a vital piece of my research.  And it also brought to my attention that there was a comic strip out there also.  I also came up, by accident a second draft script for the movie.

Once I got all the information put together, it took a little over a year but I finally launched the site August 29, 2001, two years to the day when my brother passed away.   And ever since then I have kept the site fresh and updated whenever I get new information or any great ideas to help bring in new traffic.
