What was your favorite line in the movie?  Probably the most infamous quote was done by the late Lord Grade, who owned ITC at the time.  "Raise The Titanic?  It would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic!"  Here are just a few.  They are in chronological order.  More will follow in updates to follow.  If you have any that you would like added, just let me know by clicking here.

• "Well let's hope you get him out .  Because if you don't and the Russians pick him up, we'll going to be kissing a-- with the Kremlin for the next five years."-General Busby (Charles Macaulay).  When Sandecker tells them that they sent a man in to check for the possibilities of byzanium on the island of Svlardlov.

• "I'm a dynamite fisher person.  I just can't put the wormie on the hookie."-Dana Archibald (Anne Archer).  When Seagram  asked her what kind of fisher person is she.

• "Dirk Pitt.  What kind of a name is that?  Sounds like a pirate."-Gene Seagram (David Selby).  Seagram and Dana talking about Dirk while getting ready to fish.

• "So that's where we are.  We spent fives years on research and development.  We're kiss away from the end.  We need two-hundred ounces of a measly mineral we can't find and then we do find it where is it?  It's at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean."-Admiral Sandecker (Jason Robards).  Sandecker explaining to General Busby, Admiral Kemper, Nicholson, Pitt & Seagram about his frustrations on the byzanium.

• "But at least we know where it is now.  It's not just someplace, it's in one spot.  Waiting for us to come and get it."-Dirk Pitt (Richard Jordan).  Reasoning with Sandecker about the location of the lost byzanium.

• "We don't go to the mountain.  The mountain comes to us"-Dirk PittŪ (Richard Jordan).  Answering Admiral Kemper's remark of not being able to get divers down that deep.

• "Are you talking about Raising the Titanic?"-General Busby (Charles Macaulay).  Realizing what PittŪ meant when he said "The mountain comes to us".

• "But, if were lucky, we can make nuclear warfare obsolete."-Seagram (David Selby).  Telling the group the benefits of raising the Titanic and obtaining the byzanium.

• "Well, like Jim said, its the biggest job with the highest stakes anybody ever dreamt of.  How can you turn it down?"-Dirk PittŪ (Richard Jordan).  Telling the men about the challenge of a lifetime.  Raising the Titanic!

• "Uh not yet Silent Sam."-Master Chief "Vinnie" Walker (M. Emmett Walsh).  Responding back to Captain Burke about what PittŪ is up to.  (Added 8-29-2002)

• "There has to be.  Nobody hires you for your good looks."-Captain Joe Burke (J.D. Cannon).  Answering PittsŪ question about why he said "What makes you thinks there is going to be some tricky stuff?"  (Added 8-29-2002)

• "When I have nightmares about that lovely ship going down, I always see that crazy ole man with a gun."-John Bigalow (Alec Guinness).  As he explains to PittŪ on how he survived the Titanic sinking and his encounter with Arthur Brewster. (Added 5-29-2002)

• "God help a man who can't live by himself.  We all end up in a single bed sooner or later"-John Bigalow (Alec Guinness).  He tells this to Pitt as they walk in to the Pub in Cornwall. (Added 5-29-2002)

• "This is my Titanic collection.  All that is left of her except memories."-John Bigalow (Alec Guinness) Right after he PittŪ receive their pink gins, he escorts PittŪ to his Titanic sanctuary. (Added 5-29-2002)

• "What a lovely thing she was.  Standing as high in the water as one of your skyscrapers.  Longer than two rugby fields.  And furnishes that matched the finest mansions in England.  She was one of a kind.  No question about it.  And God himself they said couldn't sink her.  Than in two hours she was gone.  And fifteen hundred souls with her."-John Bigalow (Alec Guinness). As he is showing PittŪ his Titanic collection he explains the beauty about the ship he once served. (Added 5-29-2002)

• "I took the pennant off of her before she went down.  If you manage to bring her up again, maybe you put it back where it belongs."-John Bigalow (Alec Guinness).  As he is showing PittŪ his Titanic collection he takes down the White Star Line Pennant that he had taken off before the ship sank. •  "Another couple of weeks under water and those submersible crews will come after you with a harpoon", Dirk PittŪ to Gene Seagram after Seagram tells them he believes they are off by ten miles.  (Added 3-17-2002-From Kim Elder)

• Gene Seagram - "If you were so damn crazy about him, then why did'nt you stay with him?" Dana replies- "Because I was stupid."    Dana's reply to her boyfriend, Gene Seagram after he thought that Dirk Pitt revealed the secret story to her of the Titanic being found. • "No good.  Seagram picked a lousy day to go site seeing."-Dirk PittŪanswering Sandecker's question about the situation with the Deep Quest's accident on the Titanic wreck. (Added 7-29-2002)

• You want to talk about distress, we have Navy weather forcasting a force-12 storm, we have Russians looking down our throats and we are on a ship that never learned to do anything but sink, that's distress" -Dirk PittŪ to Admiral James Sandecker on board the Titanic after the U.S.S.
