Due to the holidays, I will not be updating the site
again until sometime after the New Year. I would like to wish
everyone a safe and joyous Holiday Season. I will have some fun
and exciting stuff coming in the up coming update that I believe will
knock your socks off. I will see you all in the new year.
God Bless-Gabe

Two new pages have
been added under the Movie Section. They are the Concordance
Page. Just like the novel,
it contains information about the characters, places, ships, equipment
and submersibles used in the film.
And the Cast & Crew
Page. I moved the credits
from the Movie home page and moved them here. I will eventually
have a bio of each actor and any links pertaining to any fan-based
websites and their official site.
And after popular demand, I decided to do a
section about the site itself.
Including the home page, there are a total of seven pages.
12-6-2001
Four new pages
have been added under the Movie Section and new reviews have been added also. They are the Goofs
Page which explains all the mess ups
that the writers did that they shouldn't have done in the first place.
The Poster Page that depicts all of
the posters used to promote the film. Any that were in the photo
gallery section have been moved to this new page. The Quotes
Page is infamous lines from the movie itself. And the Trivia
Page is behind the scenes look at the
making of the movie itself.
I added a soundtrack
section. Including the home page, its a total of 4 pages.
There's a Composer
Page about
John Barry himself. A Reviews
Page which will be just like
the other 2 review pages for the movie and the novel. And finally
a Sound Bytes
Page with
small samples of each track from the soundtrack that was re-done by the
City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and composed by Rick Raine in
1999.
The Fiction
Section
is up also. Now understand, this section of the site has nothing on it
yet.
It's only up to let anyone out there who would like to show any of their
own ideas on how the film should be re-done.
I finally added a
Page
about Dr. Clive Cussler under the novel section. I should have
done this when I first published this site back in August. But I
was so anxious to get this site up, I never really thought about it.
I hope you like it.
And finally a update on Clive Cussler's Sahara. Again,
this was obtained from
Dark
Horizons. And "Thanks" goes to Garth again for his
journalistic style for digging the info.
Sahara: At a book signing Nov. 29th in Tempe, Arizona by Clive
Cussler, the author apparently indicated that filming begins in July in
Australia, Jackman is still his choice for the Dirk Pitt role.

This is probably
one of the biggest updates since the site has been published. Each
paragraph represents a different update that has been done. So
here ya go.
A new novel cover is
posted. Thanks goes to
Ashley Runt from Northampton, UK. I also have a few covers that I added myself. I
found a new French cover, I scanned the other Australian cover, a hardbound cover,
& the basic paperback cover. I would like to thank Larry for
allowing me to borrow his scanner too!!
The Movie Program that I have is finally up and is
posted here. The text is in
Japanese and I am looking for someone to translate it. If you know
of anyone who can translate it please let me know.
I also posted a MP3 of the Prelude. Now this is
not from the soundtrack CD, this is actually taken off from the movie
itself. It was used as a background sound on a French website.
The same one where I got allot of pictures and
posters page. The MP3 is in
the download section.
New pictures are posted.
Thanks goes to Derek Walker from Johannesburg, South Africa. And to Vlad
Slaveski from St. Petersburg, Russia
I moved the dedication site of the 9-11-01 disaster to a
new page called A Moment Of Silence. The reason why I did is
because I also have a dedication page about my late brother that I moved
over here. The reason why I haven't labeled it as a "New" page is
because I don't want to loose the focus on this website. That page
is just there for anyone out there who would just like to pay their
respects.
The Review Pages for both of the novel and the
movie are
also up. I basically went to various websites and posted their
reviews with links to their website. I also posted an e-mail from
an individual (who wanted to remain anonymous for some reason) who sent
a review about the movie. If you would like to post
your own review on either the book or the movie send me an e-mail.
Also in the works are a quotes page from the movie, a
Trivia page about the film, a soundtrack section (and no, I
will not be posting Full-Track-MP3's from the Prague CD) and a fan-fiction section. The
Trivia page will take
sometime to work on because there is so little known about the film.
If you know anything about the film that you have heard let me know.
The quotes page and the soundtrack section should be up shortly after the New Year. And the
Trivia page
probably a month later. As for the FF page, that would all be up
to you, the fans. Whenever I get some kind of screenplay, artistic
work, novel variation or ideas then it will be posted.

To help offset the
costs of maintaining this website I have also added a donations page. From there I will
explain further as to my reasoning.
11-15-2001
I added a few new
questions & answers in the FAQ page about why the film should
be re-done. I have received allot of e-mails asking why and now
here is my answer. And plus the fact that I got tired of e-mailing everyone my
reason over and over. So now if anyone asks, I am going to refer them to that
page. So there! :oŜ
11-14-2001
I had the
navigation reworked again. I also added a covers page under the novel section.
I also updated the FAQ page on some of the
previous questions that were asked with up-to-date answers. A few donations also came to my attention. I received some
pictures from Larry Ridley of Drummonds, TN.
I also received my
first Midi file from a composer, Francis Imossi
of Gibraltar. The pictures are here. And the midi is
here. I would like to
thank them both and my appreciation. Keep up the good work
everyone and keep those donations coming!!!

The pictures that
I won off of E-bay are now posted.
10-18-2001
I moved the pictures from the Drew Movie Page from the
movie page to the
photo gallery
page.
10-14-2001
New pictures from the
film have been added. Click here
to see them.

I finally received the
pictures that I won on e-bay last week. The problem was my fault
for not receiving them sooner. I didn't put on the money order
what it was for. The seller probably had a few transactions other
then mine and I guess I confused him. Sorry about that. Now
the only problem I have is I don't have a working scanner at the current
moment. I know I also said I'll have the movie program up and
running too. I will try and have them both up by the end of the
this month or up at least by early November.
More news from Dr. Cussler about the up coming
adaptation of his novel Sahara. Thanks to Garth again from
Dark Horizons.
Sahara: Clive Cussler revealed a while
ago that his Dirk Pitt adventure "Sahara" was in development
with Hugh Jackman tipped to play the famous adventurer. Now whilst
promoting his latest novel "Valhalla Rising", Cussler gave an
interview to
Book Reporter
and discussed its current status: "I'm sitting here today working
on the screenplay. I sold to Hollywood finally, and they are going to do
SAHARA first. It could change, but at the moment it looks like Dirk will
be played by Hugh Jackman (Swordfish, Someone Like You, X-Men). We're
trying to keep it away from being Bond-like, not so stiff or anything
else. You know, they messed up Raise the Titanic 20 some years ago. They
made such a botch of it I held off for all these years, but finally they
gave me script and casting approval. So that's why I'm reading the
script the screenwriter came up with. If it fails this time, it's my
fault". Thanks to 'Andrew'.

Due to
some recent e-mails on the navigation, I decided to give the entire site
a new face-lift. In the past, I would just work on a particular page.
This time, I decided that if I did the entire site, I wouldn't receive
anymore complaints on the navigation. I hope it's suitable to
everyone's liking.

Good news came sooner
then I thought! I have the comic strip now on the site!!
Click here to see it. I
would like to thank Barry
Campbell for allowing me to use it from his website, bcuniversal.
He e-mailed me and said he'll e-mail the front and back cover too.
Check his site out and show him your appreciation.
I also re-designed the home page and added a tribute
page for the WTC, Pentagon, and PA victims. Plus I added a Links
page that I hope will be constantly added with Dirk Pitt Fan sites.
9-28-2001
Good news
has come to my attention about the serialized comic strip version of the
novel. I should have it in my possession within the next several
weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.

I recently added a nice picture of the
Titanic raising on the movie page. I found it on a website called
the Drew Movie Poster Page. It turns out that the artist who did
the Titanic poster has done a ton of different movie posters. His
work is best known in the Star Wars universe and Indiana Jones
Adventures. I sent an e-mail to the webmaster asking where I can
obtain a copy of the poster and received an almost immediate response. The two photos that were mentioned in the e-mail I put on the movie
page right under the first poster. More information about them are
at the movie main page, under the
illustrations themselves. Here is the e-mail that I
received:
Hi there,
Thanks for writing, it's fine for you to
use the picture from my site, thanks for the link. I got this
image from Drew himself. There must be a printed poster around
somewhere with Drew's artwork, but there's another one sheet around that
you see more regularly. I've never seen a printed poster of Drew's
work so I wouldn't know where to find it.
I scanned two sketches, also by Drew, for
the eventual poster. These two pieces are comprehensives and were
never intended to be used as posters, just ideas of what the movie
poster could look like. The big images you took from the site, was
the finished piece Drew did for the movie. Maybe
you can add these two sketches as well, as long as you explain they're
just sketches, ideas for the finished poster.
They were scanned from the
Christie's auction 'Masters of Cinema Art' book, the auction took place
last year on the 22 June 2000. I might find some more scans for
you.
Well have fun and keep well,
Paul

Since I
had the weekend to burn, I did a complete face-lift on the movie
page. I added the full cast and crew. I also moved the
pictures to a new page. Now later on this week, I should be
getting some production shots that I won off of e-bay. And I also
have a movie program that I won last year that I'm going to scan also.
The only problem with the program is its in Japanese.
9-19-2001
Since
last weeks terrorists attacks, I have added a memoriam on the main
page and a Red Cross Banner for donations. So please give to the
Red Cross. If you had choice between supporting this site and
donating to the Red Cross. I would prefer for you to donate to the
Red Cross. Our nation needs to heal and I think I can make due
with the resources that I have to get by. God Bless America!

Some
recent information has come to my attention while browsing the Clive
Cussler newsgroup and confirmed it on the most reliable website for the
entertainment world at darkhorizons.com.
Thanks again Garth!!
Raise the Titanic: German
ProCinema and French Ciné magazine both indicate Producer
Richard D. Zanuck has apparently expressed interest in resurrecting
Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt adventure "Raise the Titanic" which
was previously made into a 1980 film of the same name that's still
regarded as one of the most expensive flops in history. Zanuck was in
Venice last week to promote "Planet of the Apes" and was
apparently asked to comment on the project, which he didn't do sadly
(leading one to believe things are VERY up in the air right now). This
comes as very odd sounding news after reports from Cannes in May
indicated that Crusader Entertainment and Paramount had acquired the
rights to the Cussler novel franchise and were developing
"Sahara" for the screen with Hugh Jackman still the hot
favorite to play Pitt.
