David Michael-Joshua Waters
David Michael-Joshua Waters, 23 of Chillicothe, Ohio, left this world to be with his Lord Jesus Christ 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 1999 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after an unexpected brain aneurysm.
Dave was born September 1, 1975, in Chillicothe Ohio, to William Joseph and Connie Lynn Waters. Dave was the youngest of three brothers and he was never married.
Dave’s Surviving older brothers are Gabriel Christopher-Cawood Waters, 28, and Matthew Scott Waters, 25. Also surviving are his grandmother, Mary Edwards; his uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Waters, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Seidt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Walter McGonigle, and his uncle Francis Edwards; as well as many beloved cousins, John Waters, Tony Waters, Beth Miller, Jennifer Willis, Richard Seidt, Jeremy Seidt, Brian Edwards, Mark Edwards, Paul Edwards, Donna Carson, and Steve Strausbaugh. Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents Clyde Waters and Erma Waters-Johnson and Harold Edwards; also cousins Tim Waters and Terry Waters.
Dave Waters graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1994. An honor student, Dave attended Ohio University-Chillicothe and The Recording Workshop and was an excellent Sound Recording Engineer. Dave worked with Evergreen Productions, The Recording Workshop, Open Door Ministries and Carnival Cruise Lines. Dave was a partner with his father in producing and recording many radio/TV commercials broadcast throughout the U.S. Dave was a gifted writer-storyteller and had studied film making and directing with Bordiga’s Directors Seminars in New York City. Dave participated and acted in several college play productions at OU-C. Dave sang in several choirs and was a keyboard musician under the direction of Kevin Elliott of Open Door Ministries.
Most importantly, Dave Waters was a true Christian, who treated all people with love gentleness and kindness. Always quick to forgive or to apologize, and always slow to speak. Though sometimes reserved and shy, Dave was sensitive and considerate of others. Dave loved to laugh and enjoyed a fun sense of humor. Dave greatest desire was to serve the Lord. In the last days of his life, Dave held firm in his faith in Christ though he didn’t understand what was happening to him physically. Dave put his trust in Christ and stood for Him no matter what.
Dave was especially dedicated to his Mom, was his Dad’s best friend, was his brothers’ little brother, always loyal and concerned for his brothers. Dave humbly lived his life for his Lord and like the character, George Bailey, in the Jimmy Stewart movie "It’s a Wonderful Life", Dave Waters never thought of himself as anyone special. But, those who took the time to know Dave knew his life truly was a "wonderful life". Though his sweet life was too brief, Dave Waters’ purpose on this earth has been completed. Dave attended Philadelphia Christian Fellowship.
Services were held at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral at 77 East Fifth Street on September 3, 1999 11 a.m. with Pastor Cliff Rowe officiating. Burial was held at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Max Stafford, Terry Moore, Brent Johnson, John Waters, Carl Burgin Jim Rosebrook, Dave Wyatt and Chuck Hutchinson.
"The presence of the Lord was strong last night at my home around 11:45 p.m. I went in to a private place and cried out to God. . and the Holy Spirit came down on me strong. I have never felt such a presence of God as I did last night. . . the Lord said to me that I am a new man. . the Lord has birthed something inside of me. . I must continue to seek the Lord and bear no anxiety. . for the Lord is good and merciful."
